A native of the Shiripuno community, Teo first began working as a freelance guide for various tourist groups in different parts of the country. He then worked at the Yawahy Foundation in Paspasa province with a Shuar and Kichwas Salamas community.
It was at that time that he met his French ex-wife Amélie Lemand, who supported him in the creation of the travel agency.
Teorumi Travel Agency was established in 2003 and quickly began building cabins to accommodate tourists.
On Teo's property, a huge stone stands out due to the presence of various animal shapes drawn on its walls: thus was born the attraction of the Sacred Stone which will justify the creation of the Community Tourism Center (you will find more information on the CTC and the Sacred Stone on the website dedicated to the Shiripuno community).
Thanks to its many contacts, the Teorumi agency regularly offers jungle tours to tourists (then mainly French), which allows it to properly recoup its investments while helping families in the Shiripuno community.
As a leader in the tourism sector in the region, Teorumi benefits from generous media coverage (Lonelyplanet, Guide du Routard, Petit Futé, Razen, Trota Mundo, etc.) attracting English, German, American, Swiss and even Russian tourists.
Teorumi agency offered its services to approximately 500 tourists per year.
Some time before Covid, Teo separated from his wife.
A difficult period to manage, reinforced by the instability of the country, the agency is losing its panache.
For several years after the pandemic, tourism is still affected and there are many foreign tourists than before.
Since 2023, Teorumi has started promoting his agency again, particularly through social media.
Determined to offer the best possible services to tourists, Teo has already started implementing new projects for your enjoyment.
